Steve Bellas has
maintained a dual career in broadcasting and
education. Mr. Bellas holds a B.A. from
Southeastern Louisiana University and an M.A.
from the University of New Orleans. He has been
a full-time faculty member in the Department of
Communication, Southeastern Louisiana
University, since Fall, 2003. Mr. Bellas has
taught on the secondary and university levels
for 20 years. He has been an adjunct professor
at the University of New Orleans and Tulane
University, and he has served as a visiting
professor at the University of Innsbruck,
Austria, via the UNO/International Program.
While currently teaching at Southeastern
Louisiana University, and hosting the
Telly Award winning program, NORTHSHORE FOCUS,
on the Southeastern Channel, Mr. Bellas
continues as a broadcast journalist with ABC26
News in New Orleans. He was with the NBC
affiliate for 22 years, where he reported and
anchored news and weather. His stories have
taken him from New Orleans to Europe, and they
have aired on CNN, NBC, and the BBC. Mr.
Bellas is a Member of the American
Meteorological Society and holds the prestigious
AMS Seal of Approval. And, he has been honored
by the Associated Press and the New Orleans
Press Club. |
